For the portrait project I am working with cdsls. We were both completely mesmerized by the scanning electron microscope- Watching that image appear on the screen was some kind of magic- an object I thought I understood revealed itself in a completely unexpected way.
Here, I hope to leverage the novelty of slitscanning techniques to also reveal a known object in a satisfying and surprising way. The images below show my experiments so far with interactive slitscanning methods in Processing.
Moving forward, I want to capture cdsls with the Sony sterographic “bloggie” camera, process the video through slitscanning techniques, potentially moving through these videos with the interactive methods I have developed so far. The addition of stereo capture to this process will also allow for display through methods like Google Cardboard, which could further deepen the experience.
