I’m interested in the Google Streetview database (https://www.google.com/maps/streetview/) since it contains images for just about every point along a road in the US.  Roads have fundamental ties to the physical systems of modern civilizations, so analyzing them is likely to reveal something interesting.

I intend to write a program that will search images of street intersections to find stop signs and then align them, centering on the stop sign.
