I’ve chosen the “Teenie” Harris archive as my dataset. “Teenie” Harris was a professional photographer who photographed over 80,000 images between 1930 to his death in 1998, documenting the cultural experiences of Pittsburgh’s African American population. A breakthrough in this dataset would immediately affect thousands of people by resolving forgotten portions of their history.
I’m attempting to determine all of the images which contain the same individuals. Here are a few of the faces I’ve pulled out of the database so far.
I am now aiming to pull facial landmarks/features from these images and create profiles for every individual photographed by Teenie!
