I was looking through all of the “Best Twitter Bot of 2015” lists, and a lot of them were funny, but I really liked one that I found by one of last year’s IACD students called Alex’s Internet (@mynewwebpage.)  Alex is actively searching for “the edge of the internet.”    As he searches for the edge of the internet, every few milliseconds the twitter bot posts where the physical location of the domain he visited is.  Screen Shot 2016-01-21 at 7.24.30 AM Screen Shot 2016-01-21 at 7.24.50 AM

I think this idea is super unique and how can you not click on a link that says “Trying to find the edge of the internet.”  My only concern is that the description doesn’t really explain what it means to search for the edge of the internet.  I feel like I would have found this twitter bot even more interesting had there been a tiny explanation of what that meant and how one website is being linked to the next.  I have the looming question: why are all of the locations in Pittsburgh and CA?  With a bit more depth into what exactly the bot is looking for to find the edge, following might be significantly more compelling.
